The current Catholic ‘Mass’ was not intended by the Council
Thanks to Fr Z for posting this…
“His Eminence Walter Card. Brandmüller expressed himself about the Novus Ordo, aka “the Mass of Paul VI” and “the Ordinary Form”. He says what we know is true but few people are willing to say openly: the Novus Ordo is NOT the Mass of the Council. That is to say, the Council Fathers mandated a reform, but what we got was NOT the reform they mandated.” - Fr. Z.
I must emphasise that the form of the post-conciliar liturgy with all its distortions, is not attributable to the Council or to the Liturgy Constitution established during Vatican II which by the way has not really been implemented even to this day. The indiscriminate removal of Latin and Gregorian Chants from liturgical celebrations and the erection of numerous altars were absolutely not acts prescribed by the Council.

The wholesale destruction of the Catholic liturgy is a major and direct cause of so many millions of Catholics leaving the Church into the arms of the modern secular world. For Protestant readers this was no ‘triumph’ against the enemy; this greatly undermined the strongest force upholding traditional Christian values.
No more clown masses…
Raymond de Souza – the brilliant Catholic apologist ! Great DVD on the Dechristianisation of the West and how to counter it.
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Divine Power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
The Vision Of Pope Leo XIII October 13, 1884
Exactly 33 years to the day prior to the great Miracle of the Sun in Fatima, that is, on October 13, 1884, Pope Leo XIII had a remarkable vision. When the aged Pontiff had finished celebrating Mass in his private Vatican Chapel, attended by a few Cardinals and members of the Vatican staff, he suddenly stopped at the foot of the altar.
He stood there for about 10 minutes, as if in a trance, his face ashen white. Then, going immediately from the Chapel to his office, he composed the prayer to St. Michael, with instructions it be said after all Low Masses everywhere. When asked what had happened, he explained that, as he was about to leave the foot of the altar, he suddenly heard voices – two voices, one kind and gentle, the other guttural and harsh. They seemed to come from near the tabernacle. As he listened, he heard the following conversation:
The guttural voice, the voice of Satan in his pride, boasted to Our Lord:
“I can destroy your Church.”
The gentle voice of Our Lord:
“You can? Then go ahead and do so.”
“To do so, I need more time and more power.”
“How much time? How much power?
“75 to 100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service.”
“You have the time, you will have the power. Do with them what you will.”
Well… something definitely went wrong in the 20th Century. This prayer to St Michael was instituted to help prevent the maddness. In 1970 the new Catholic Mass was instituted sans the prayer to St Michael. Unsurprisingly, shortly thereafter abortion became a universal ‘right’ and has killed over 1 billion children.
The horrors of two World Wars couldn’t destroy western civilisation in the way modern culture has done in the last 40 years ! It’s time we got back to saying this prayer – Catholics and indeed all Christians !
Whether you’re a Christian or not, the laws of creation still apply. For those skeptics, consider Pascal’s wager; live as if God does exist, and when you die if faith in God proved to be wrong, well, you’ll never know. However, if it proves to be true then you’ll have something to be grateful for.
‘Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away’ Acts 3:19
Yes, I know Ron Paul is not getting the nomination and will not likely run again. However, this video raises important issues for Catholics to think about vis a vis who they vote for in future elections.
Should a good Catholic simply vote for the best Catholic politician? While pro-life and family issues are fundamentally important to consider when voting, there is more to the world than just those issues.
In no way do I denegrate their utmost importance, no, but the broader context in which these issues have become problematic need to be addressed. Ron Paul is the only politician who appears to understand that the tremendous growth of the American Federal government is the actual cause of so many social ills – abortion, endless foreign wars, inflation, poverty, crony capitalism, socialism, police state etc etc. Consequently, it is counterproductive to vote in a ‘big-government’ conservative (Santorum, Romney, Ryan, Bush etc.) as they are propping up the same system which they purport to be against.
The only fix is to move attention and power away from the Federal level and back to the State level where it truly belong.
Ron Paul is the only man in Washington who understands this and Catholics ought to take note !
